Supporting Your Health Into Retirement
The HBTA is committed to supporting the health of health care employees across Alberta.
We understand with the transition to retirement, people’s benefit needs will change – and each person’s benefit needs will be unique. Flexibility and choice are important.
The HBTA has partnered with three retiree benefit providers to make available three different retiree programs for retiring employees. The HBTA has secured preferred pricing and access to each of these programs for employees retiring from any HBTA administered program.
Each retiree program is different. We encourage you to research each of the programs by contacting each of the providers directly. Each program makes information available online as well as contact centres where program representatives can explain each program and an answer any questions.
We encourage you to review your options prior to retirement and enroll in your preferred option within 60 days of your retirement date in order to receive the benefits of the preferred pricing and access advantages.
Ultimately the choice is yours. You select and enroll with the program that best meets your health and retirement needs.
